2013 Australia Day Award

Congratulations to Lesley Hobbs on being honoured for her work for charity, with an Australia Day Award from the Brisbane Lord Mayor. Regular attendees at our productions are well aware of the hours put in by Lesley in running the Charity stall at the Front of House. Lesley has worked on the stall for some 31 years – during which time the stall has evolved from selling lamingtons to what it is today. This has come about through time consuming work locating and dealing with those contributing pottery, handicraft and other goods and dealing with the charities concerned. Congratulations to Lesley from all of us at St Luke’s and our thanks for a splendid effort on our behalf. During Lesley’s time, donations to charity are in the vicinity of $57,000.
